A&B Taxis driver jobs are completely flexible. Work the hours that suit you best. There are periods during the week where we are busier. During the week, we are particularly busy during the early morning and evening periods and at weekends we are very busy later in the evening.

You do not need to worry about a vehicle. A vehicle is provided to you by A&B Taxis. All A&B Taxis vehicles are typically less than 4 years old and are regularly maintained by a partner company.

Customers pay for their journeys in two ways, so there are two ways we pay you.
Account and Card transactions
Account and Card customers pay us directly via their accounts. We’ll add this money up and settle this with you each week.
Non-Account transactionsThese are cash jobs and are settled on a daily basis.

Above all, we look for enthusiasm and reliability in drivers. Experience with private hire driver jobs is not necessary, but a good working knowledge of the local area is required. You will need to apply for a Basildon Council or a castle point Borough Council taxi drivers badge and be able to speak English.

Yes. All A&B drivers are self-employed and responsible for their own tax and national insurance.

Documents required include but are not limited to: UK Driving Licence, National Insurance ID, Utility Bill, Passport or Birth Certificate. If you have a Taxi badge, we will require a taxi badge certificate and your badge. If you do not have one, please sign up and our recruitment team can speak to you on how we can help you get one.

As soon as you have completed your registration process and training, you will be approved and can immediately start earning.

REQUIREMENTS TO DRIVE WITH A&B TAXIS
Passengers put their trust and safety in the hands of our drivers that is why you are required to adhere to high standards to obtain your driver's licence. To become a licensed driver you need to make an application through Basildon Council or Castle Point Council for a Private Hire or Hackney Carriage drivers licence. All drivers and vehicles licensed by Basildon District Council are thoroughly checked. Drivers are subject to Criminal Record Bureau checks and a test of their knowledge of the Basildon District.
